ULING LUGUD MU KU

Kegaywan kung magmuni’t magdili-dili,
Karing apat a suluk na ning bale mi,
Pusu mu binulus na ku ba kung milibri,
Palual king yatung malungkut kung serili.

Bie kung malumbe migratun ya king lugma,
Ding dalit ku, malungkut lang melodiya,
Ding poesia ku, alang pagasang akma,
Anggang binye me pusu mung minye laya.

Ika ing sangkan likwan ke ing kapsa ku,
Bubwat mu ku neng panaun kulol abu,
At neng naman maybug taluras Impiernu,
Saluan mu kung agad at ibwat parayu!

Diren mu kung anak abeng mamialungan,
King jardin ning yumu at pulut-pukyutan,
Nung nu ing lugud daragul, maglaparan,
Mengalanging gabun maging berdi na ngan.

Mitigko no naman paninap kung mitda,
Mitas la sulapo king bayung alkus da,
Ing uran, ing aldo ku e na ne a patda,
Uling atiu na ka’t palisan me ing biga!

Neng takut kakawul ya kakung makawat,
Balugse me laut, akmul ne ning dayat,
Anggang akit me lupa ku’t sigla ne sulyap,
Anggang ing takut ku kinateng menapnap.

Mitakda kang lugud kaku’t alang aliwa,
Lugud a taguimpan ku ibat samula,
Malungkut kung yatu ikwang mesariwa,
Meging malegwan king legwang makalula.

Alang migit a tula king aku mabie ku,
Balang tumayla ku mesaya no tonu,
Balang poesia ku ing pagasa ‘tiu sepu,
Kasampat ning mabie…uling lugud mu ku.

 BECAUSE YOU LOVE ME

 I’m used to wandering alone with me,
 By myself at the four corners of home,
 And then your heart came to set me free,
 Outside the lonely world of my own.

 My lonely life used to dwell in sorrow,
 My songs, I sang them in sad melody,
 My poems, no line of hope for morrow,
 Until you came to give your heart to me.

 You’re the reason I came out of my shell,
 You lift me up in my moments of gray,
 And when at times I’m slipping down to Hell,
 You catch me fast and carry me away!

 You gave me lovely children to play with,
 By the garden of sweet and honey-comb,
 Where love is growing, branching in width,
 Restores the barren soil to verdant form.

 You rebuild dreams of lost forgotten time,
 Now they are back in shape and soaring high,
 Rain can’t take away again my sunshine,
 For I got you here to sweep clear the sky!

 When ugly fear hugs me in tight embrace,
 You hurled it far ‘til engulfed by the sea,
 Until you see light shines upon my face,
 Until my fear subsided completely.

 You’re meant to love me, nobody in lieu,
 A love that I have always dreamed in me,
 You have changed my lonely world anew
 To a lovely world that’s beyond beauty.

 Nothing now can beat the joy of living,
 Every song I sing are tuned happily,
 Every poem I write with hopeful ending,
 How I love to live…because you love me.
